Look at the Mod's in my sign. I have stock clutch with 87k on it. When I drive the car I love to romp on it, but I usually or rarely dump the clutch. Any ideas on life on her?

No tellin... When I installed my blower I discovered immediately that my well worn DF Centerforce was no longer up to the task. I replaced it with a brand new DF Centerforce.

But hey.... the REAL reason I responded to this thread is because I want to see PICS!!!!! I think a HOlley on a Mustang would be kewl as hell!

All in how you drive the thing. Probably could break the clutch in a couple hundred miles or it could last thousands.

It's interesting to see a carb and small blower setup just because it can be done for cheap and is different. I wanted to put a 4:71 on my S-10 but had to fix too many other problems.

How much boost do you see with it? Oh and the clutch is gonna probably die pretty quickly. For awhile you might even think it's not holding you back, until you put in a new one and the car starts moving alot better.

Thanks for the response and yes I switched to carb because of how cheap I got this setup. I'm currently pushing about 7-8 PSI and it's amazing at 390 RWHP and 375 TQ. Holley claims you can get up to 26PSI on this blower. Here's some pics...

Problems I've ran into is cooling issues. It's running about 210 right now which is too much. I'd like to stay around 190 if possible or lower. Fan clearance is the problem. I have a crappy hayden fan trying to do the job but it's off center and pushes about 1800 cfms or lower. Trying to figure if I can put a dual front fan system behind the front bumper to cool through the radiator to the motor if that would work...hmm? Second, I have to put a pulley tensioner on it yet as the with the current setup, the belt pops off at times. I guess I have to get one from a 3.8 T-bird and do some cutting (already done in pics) to the alternator bracket...I still have to put the pully on. Other than that...it's amazing. Third, I'm in the process of getting a 4" cowl hood for clearance...plus my current one is ugly. Let me know what you guys think!

I think you need one of these things peeking out of your hood.

I think you've got a sweet setup there. For something like that, I'd have to make it a bit more noticable.

Just a little chromed, 3 hole scoop up there to say "How you doin'?"

Beautiful...

and as someone said before, it does all depend on how you run it... if you take it easy (like anyone does), you could prolly get many miles out of it... i say, just drive tha hell outta it for awhile then replace it with a real nice clutch!! haha

Im more of a fan of EFI but man those little blower setups are neat and different. You need another filter though! That paper one has to be choking it!

You can get away with just replacing the clutch disc if the pressure plate is still good.

Not quite sure how those setup, but really not my style to be honest. I want to get a 4" cowl for looks.
