my 88 gt mustang has 2in lowering springs that were on a 95 cobra, so right now my o/r h-pipe sits exactly 2in off the ground. well i want to go lower. what do u think it will take to lower my car more? chop springs? what about new control arms or what not.....any suggestions? i know im going to have to raise my piping, but what else?

If your 88gt is 2 inches lower you are already very low. Besides if you go any lower you will adversly affect handling. Don't cut the springs it will ride even worse than it already probably does. Springs were not meant to be cut.

To cure the exhaust hitting loosen the fittings at the headers (not heads) and where the h-pipe meets the catback, raise it up, and retighten.

And if you'd like to be a real moron and make it lower, take a blow torch and heat the springs up.

IMO just invest in some air ride suspension for it. That way you can adjust it wherever you want. Raise it when your driving and drop the damn thing on the frame when your parked.
