How low did YOU go?

anyone have any pics or information on how much your car has been lowered without the use of cc plates or anything else (just springs only, no other mods or anything?

My car was lowered (via heating the springs ) before I got it for at least 3 or 4 years. Only problem was the brake line rubbed the tire and left my friend stranded and luckily he was only going through a neighborhood and downshifting into 2nd gear when the brakes went out

my back looks lower then the front to me but when im next to my buddys car you can tell the front and back are lower then his id say about 2"

My '63 Corvair Spyder sat waayy low, a Coke can wouldn't stand up under the oil pan it was soo low. I know that wasn't the topic, but thought I'd throw it in.

1.5" with springs (MAC progressive rates on my 'vert), not sure if the CC plates (added afterward) added anything or took away from it

I had mine dropped 2 inches with out camber plates but i sloted my stock ones and i had no issues at all.

My car back in the day. Cut stock springs....slammed. Looked badass but the full lengths scraped on everything. It was like getting in and out of an old Corvette. When you've got 15s tucked...you know it's low.

i dont see the point in lowering a car unless its a street rod or a car show deal just for looks. for a performance street car it doesnt nothig but hurt you, jacks up the whole geometry of the suspension and since the car is so low it wont let weight transfer like it should.

A car lowered with good springs improves the handling drasticly, but also makes for a stiffer riide, the geometry that gets jacked up is normally the tie rods, so you get bump steer, but there are kits to eliminate that. When you turn a corner, you dont want the car to lean and transfer a bunch of weight to that side. It seems like your talking about drag racing or your just incorrect about what you said.

Eibach Standard(not sure which ones).Down 1.5 in front,1 in the rear.No plates,stock struts and shocks. Im well on my way to kidney failure driving this car every day. And the front wears out the inside tread on the tires within about 3,000 miles, so its used tires until I can afford to get the plates have em installed and the allignment done all in one shot. Get the plates and have it alligned as soon as you can(and go with progressive rate springs. Cutting the springs is not the right way to do it ,as it changes the load distrubution of the spring, and they will ride like ass. Mine are just too damn stiff from the factory.But it does corner well. Longpost=sorry

88 has mac springs....drop is critical IMO to making the cars appearance. I have an 04GT vert that's stock as stock can be and the sight of it's 4x4 height drives me CRAZY...CRAZY...ruins the lines of the car.

Saleen Specific rates. I'd say a good 1.5 in the front, and same in the rear. No CC plates.. I don't need them. I got the car on the rack at work and slotted the strut holes and pulled the camber perfectly into specs. I run mine -1.0 on each side for more bite in the corners (which is still in spec, just a little negative of "perfect" factory settings.)

I've got the full BBK kit and i think its 1.5 but its settled a bit. It launches and handles great but its like riding in a shopping cart.

Eibach pro kit 1.5 inch drop, although the back looks a little higher than the front. I have MM CC plates and a bunch of other suspension stuff so its not just springs but you get the idea.
