I attended Mustangs at the Queen Mary this past Sunday in Long Beach. The Saleen Class was all 05's and a 2002 and my 2000 Saleen. The Saleen next to me had a number 1252 which is the highest number i have seen. Would anyone know how many were made this year?

I think there was one numbered over 2000 (2008?) that the owner posted about here, or on the "other" Saleen webboard.

Who knows exactly what the production is with Saleen skipping numbers. I'm sure once 2005 production is in the books, a couple months after that a 2005 owner will get their LOA and it will tell them the total run for the year. I'm guessing this will be end of October timeframe.

2005 for Saleen was a travesty. I'm sure the bean counters are happy but not me. Come on. It will be 2040 before the 05's are worth more than they are new now.

Done venting. I'm about a week from going down and leaving my deposit on a 2006 C6 Z06.

:damnit: What?? Trust me, you don't want to go GM. I sold my rock solid, highly modified 87 GT for an 89 6-speed Corvette that was a POS. I must have re-built the friggin alternator 15 times, then it spun a main rod bearing. The 6-speed was a piece of junk that you couldn't get parts for. It was a German tranny, so you had to turn yours in for an $1800 core charge and they sent you a new one for $3500. Now, I'm sure they must have come a long ways since then, but still. You're a Saleen man bro. Who is going to get the prime realestate in the garage?

All that being said, the Z06 is one heck of a car... Just hate to see ya cross over to the "other side"

You should have checked the box that said "RPO B2K", then you would have been happy with your Vette

Before you do that, you should call me to talk "New Vettes", as I know of something that may be of interest to you

Regular Production Option Callaway Twin Turbo

It was a factory option as easy to order as checking the box to get floor mats, though the option was a bit more than floor mats- hehe

Oh yea, I must have inadvertantly overlooked that checkbox on the order sheet! I also forgot to check the SOPS option (Special Order Porsche Spare). That was an option to get a turbo 911 in place of the spare tire. It too was slightly more then the floor mat option...

Dave,

I hate to break the news to you but I'm really a GM guy. The only Ford I'll own is a Saleen Mustang and with that said my S351 is hardly a Ford. I just sold my 95 Impala, the wife drives an Escalade, and dont forget about my GTO.

Dont worry though. At the moment Ford is on the lead
