How many cats are on the stock H pipe on a 95 GT? Its looks like 4 but are 2 of them just resonators? Do the aftermarket(non off road) ones with cats only have 2 cats on them?

Im just curious...I just got my 2 1/2" Magnaflows put on the existing stock exhaust and at 1st it seemed a lil quiet but as I drove around today it seemed a hair louder..stupid question but do mufflers "break" in and get a lil louder? I like how there is no drone or raspy ness to the exhaust but wanted it a lil bit louder but not sounding like a truck with glasspacks or the raspy flowmaster sound.

The stock set-up has 4 housings. These days, they are able to get all 3 processes done with two total housings (one cat per side instead of two). You can fail emissions for having gone from 4 to 2 housings, even if the same number of stages is the same.

Hissin explained the cats so I'll grab this one. Yes most mufflers do have a break in period where after time they will get a bit louder then when they came out of the box. The sound wont change as far as them being raspy but the tone will just get louder.
