How much CFM???

Wow, the Taurus fan coud support a big block. I am gonna go with a Taurus fan and a flex-a-lite variable speed controller to control the fan. The only reason is that vsc from flex a lite is cheaper and comes with all the wires.

thanks rebel. i live in the bay area also, near san jose in the south bay. must be a pain to drive your classic in the city especially if it has no power steering :( its hard enough to drive there with all that traffic and sloping streets.

i would run a relay in the fan system. remember the fan has a fair current draw, and may overload the fan controller. also i would wire in a manual backup switch so that if the fan controller or the thermostatic switch fails, you can turn the fan on and keep the car cool. also use a switched source for the back up switch so that when you shut the car down the fan turns off if you have the manual switch on.

How much is the vsc? will it handle 35A?

It makes the fan come on a little bit slower than would the kit found in the Fordmuscle.com write up then gradually spool up to full speed.(At least that is what I think) Summit has it for ~$80. I don't know if it comes with builtin relays to handle the load.

Evidently summit pulled it. You might want to check the f150 forum, it looks like they're having problems with them overheating. The dccontrol unit's different anyway. It runs the fan at whatever speed is needed to attain the set temp.
