ok i drained the coolant to switch the thermostat, and bought 2 gallons of antifreze so with 2 gallons of water its 4 of coolant.

anyway i cant even get a gallon of water and antifreze in there? is this normal, im just wondering how much i need to fill it up?

thanks

fill it up, let the car get up to temp. shut it off, when safe remove cap and check coolant level. depending on how you drained it, you didn't lose much coolant.

did you just let it drain from the thermostat housing?

nope theres a little thing in the bottom of the radiator. prob a gallon came out. then i put some more water to flush it out, now i have like a cat littler bucket full of that stuff.

but i dunno how im gunna do 50/50 mix without knowing how much goes in. cuz i didnt buy the premixed stuff.

mixture in there is all messed up, i think ill just pre mix it in a seperate bottle then fill it up?

Yes, it is normal. This is why the marketing guys are getting away with selling the 50/50 mix at what used to be the 100% price. Me personally, I just add the straight stuff since there is already water in there. If you are concerned with too much AF and corrosion, simply make your own 50/50 mix and add, then there is no question of ratio.
