How much could i get for my car?

White 98 V6 5 speed with 57,000 miles. Stock motor except for CAI.

Dealer said they would give me 6 grand, wonderin if i could get more on the open market with it.

I applied for a sponsership a couple months ago, and finally got a call today for a sponsership offer, but i turned it down because i dont have any plans for it anymore. Was that dumb?

$6k sounds reasonable to me. Especially on a trade in. I wouldn't look for more than that even if you were selling in privately.

I say take it!! I just sold my 1995 v6 (had 144k miles though) for $2,650

traded my 98 in with 114K miles in for 3 grand in WA, that sounds reasonable.

im trading it (maybe) for a 95 5.0 with 88000 miles and some decent performance mods, red, black leather interior. From what i know it has an aftermarket distrib, headers, exhaust, shift kit, and torque convertor. It has 3:09 gears, good for highway, horrible for acceleration.

oh i would so take that and run...a 98 with only 57k miles is great, i have a 00 with 61k, so that helped out alot, but i would def. take it..generally you can get more for it selling it to a private party, but its not a for sure thing, so id take them up on it

Take it, make the trade, and drive off with a new stang for you to toy with. With a trade in like that, it shouldnt be that much more to buy the GT. Nice deal

Check Galves June issue... Its a dealer only book (but you can pay for it online) its what all the dealers here use to price out a trade... I would say thats a good price!!

IMO, you might want to consider trading in for a 99+ model GT b/c it might be better in the "longrun!" It would also be an awesome trade deal.

but if your just wanting to stick with a "5.0" go ahead and do yourself justice and get a 5.0 Cobra

If he's a good enough driver to get a 15-something in a '98 V6, I'd hope he'd be good enough to get a 5.0 down the track in under 15.

the 5.0 is modded up a little. Its kinda rough cosmetically but mechanically its sound. It doesnt have huge mods, just bolt ons mostly. Headers and exhaust, msd ignition, torque convertor and shift kit. It hauls pretty good for the crappy 308 rear end. I guess i should try for a 99+ though.
