ive always heard the the 99-04 with P.I heads really dont get much of a power gain with underdrive pulleys due to the fact that they already have pretty efficient pulleys on them stock. im on a tight budget with my mods because i cant afford to do alot to my car so i just pace myself and set short goals and move my way up. over the summer when i dont have school i can easily afford to do more, i can probably put $1500 in mods so i just do little things during school year and its getting about time to do something else, so i want to spend my money wisely and get as much "bang for the buck" that i can.

Bang for buck is nitrous. Having gone NA mods I would say save for a supercharger. Look in the classifieds for something used. I now a guy locally who has a novi kit pretty cheap.
But to answer your original question, I think they were worth it. I'm a big fan of used stuff, being poor myself so look at various classified sites. I can get you a list if you want. Anyways just don't expect much out of the UDP's. Car rev's quicker. Don't really notice the drag on the engine from running the A/C like I used to. All the NA mods add up and work well together. Trouble is, a supercharger works better and costs about the same as the bolt ons.

A BBK CAI was a better mod for me.

If you're on a tight budget, don't do pulleys. Put the cash towards breathing mods like cams or LTs.

Or think about suspension work...

Well, with the exception of one response, you got comments about everything but the pulleys.

One thing I read was that there will be less wear and tear on your water pump and alternator. That's a good thing!

So, reduced coolant flow and reduced voltage on the charging system is a good thing? Interesting...

if you can find them cheap go ahead(swapping with a blower guy that wants the stockers back) otherwise the best mods for boltons are
midpipe
tuner
gears
plenum and tb

you will gain a little you rev up faster. I have had no issues overheating or with weak battery. If you have any aftermarket stereo equipment like amps do not put them on.

BUZZZZ!!!!!

properly installed nitrous is just as safe as any fi, maybe safer due to lower IAT's. It's just easier to up the pills and get greedy on power.

as far as 10-15 hp from pullies. you could pull your serpentine belt and barely pick that much up....so the number is closer to 4-6hp

Not all nitrous mishaps involve holing a piston or grenading a manifold.
