How much for a good solid 6 speed?

... and where from? Read a little about the 6 being a little easier to slip into too low a gear a week or so ago on here, but seems it came out to be a small issue, so I may as well go with the extra gear, by my thinking. What cars have good ones that I can get used, or where would I go for a (quality) brand new one? Not running too much extra HP right now but I want to be prepared, as well.

richmonds make a nice 5 + 1 setup and tremecs is a 4 +2 overdrive. GP001 uses the richmond and has said good things about it. To get that into your '66 will probably take a little tranny tunnell massaging. I would say if you want to do then do it becuase it is a cool swap.

The Richmond 6 speed (R.O.D.) only requires slight clearancing of the tranny tunnel cross member. A T-56 will require some major tunnel mods to get it in properly

Now now, I can see a situation where a 4+2 setup would be good: very small rear gears. It would give great acceleration but be very streetable in the 6th gear.
