since my intake cracked i've been trying to piece together a pi intake swap for my car. however, my mechanic called me up today telling me he got a deal from a friend for an untouched npi intake w/ aluminum crossover for less than $100!!! anyways, i have plans for installing a blower at the end of this year or early next. so yea, how much more of a benefit will it be to have the pi stuff on when i have a blower? also i may end up getting the livernois kit since i would like the reassurance of having adapter plates on especially with a blower. should i just slap on the updated npi intake for next to nothing and go with the blower at the end of the year?

you will gain @15hp without a blower and with one i'd bet up to 40 hp over the NPI intake. Do not put another NPI intake on your car, such a waste of money.

while your looking, pick up some PI cams for cheap and add another 15 hp NA.

well the thing is this is my sole mode of transportation so a $100 fix it to get my car up and running sounds great right now. are there any other intakes and heads other than the oem pi ones that would go great on a blower setup? because i'm under the impression that a blower on a npi motor with pi heads and stock internals is just asking for it.

Any aftermarket intake would be better than an NPI or PI intake, but those are gonna run you $1000+. Dont put another NPI intake on there though spend the extra $100 or whatever to get a PI intake and if you are strapped on cash just use RTV to seal it. Not really any aftermarket heads that I know of, people just get there PI heads port and polished. You are right you dont really want to run a blower on a PI headswapped car with stock internals. Now get some dished pistons and forged rods then you are all ready to run boost and will make better numbers since you have the PI heads.

Yeah, but it's an early '01 model without the aluminum crossover. Not a thing wrong with it, but the hype over the possibility of them cracking has everyone avoiding the early ones like the plague. I mean....I can understand the concern and all, but they're really easy to change and I've never seen on go with less than 100K on the clock. The one I’ve got has only 16K on it, which means there probably at least another 80K worth of trouble free driving in it. :D http://classifieds.stangnet.com/showproduct.php?product=22141&sort=1&cat=2&page=1 A 15-20hp gain on an early NPI car or as a replacement for one that's already cracked for $50.00, isn't such a bad deal as far as I'm concerned?

I just told u in the last thread I have a mint condtion one for $50 bucks, NPI intake with alumninum crossover, your like 45 mins away from me, hit me up if you want it. We can meet up.. $50 bucks to fix your problem isnt that much money, then you can just unbolt the alumnium part and use it on the pi intake with alumn crossover when you eventually upgrade to that(this way you wont have to get the pi intake alumn crossover drilled and tapped for your 2nd coolant sensor).

I also have the water pump nipple, coolant tube and alternator bracket for a pi swap(all that stuff is brand new never used, oem ford parts). Just pm me if you are intrested, hell I even have a set of PI cams if your intrested in those.
