How much increase on Nitto DR's?

I was thinkin about buying some nitto DR's. What kind of increase can I expect for my 60' and what kind of 1/4 mile time can I expect to gain. The tires I ran for my 14.1 time were 225 bald tires and it was in 95* heat at Gateway at the Hot rod power tour. Thanks

I went from a 14.3 at 97.2mph with a 2.08 60' on normal street tires to a 13.83 at 98.55mph with nothing more than 245-50-16 nitto DR's and a homemade CAI. My 60's dropped to 1.91-1.92. What was your 60' on your 14.1 run? That will give the biggest indication as to how much time to expect the nittos to be worth. Figure somewhere around 1.5-2 tenths reduction in ET for every 1 tenth reduction in the 60'.

wow, 2.08 is pretty sweet, I need to work on my launch a lil better but mine was 2.174 for my 60'. LoL if I drop .5 sec off my time in the 1/4 mile w/ some DR that would be sweet. Like I said, my tires are BALD, they look almost like slicks. Also I hope to get some better times off of a better launch and better weather.

Yeah they should be worth at least a tenth or two. They were for me at least. I went from a best of 2.2x 60's to 2.08 60's. So I was happy with that. Just make sure to back into the water and really roast em. They need to be heated up to work best. And drop the air pressure to about 15-17psi. Another thing to consider I've heard a lot of good things about the BFG dr's. My brother has them and IMO they seem to hook a lil better than the nittos. JMO.

You need to leanr to slip the clutch out on the launch to get the most out of nittos. I'm getting mid 1.6's now on my 315-35-17 nitto DR's. I have managed with my current combo to cut low 1.9's on normal street tires. It does take a lot of practice, but there is no reason why you shouldn't be able to get into the low 1.9's with drag radials. BFG supposedly hook better than the nitto's, but they wear out faster too. My buddy has gone 11.2 at 125 on nittos, so they hook if you learn how to use them, they are not as forgiving as a slick.

Stock: 15.2 at 90mph

3.73's, HD clutch, offroad X pipe, flowmasters, K&N w/o silencer, 14* timing: 14.96 at 91.5mph

ASP pulleys with above parts: 14.6 at 94.89mph

Edelbrock intake, 65mm T-body, shorty headers w/ above parts: 14.3 at 97.2mph

Nitto 245-50-16 dr's, homemade CAI with above parts: 13.83 at 98.55mph

Wow my car really does run pretty good for an AODE. I ran 15.2 at 91 stock and then 14.4 at 96 with the mods in my sig and nitto DR's. Not too shabby. Thanks man.
