My brother-in-law has a couple of 58 Fords at his farm.I know people like the rear ends to swap into early Mustangs. What is a fair asking price?

They have no value at all, but I would galdly take them off your hands if you'd consider driving them down to California! Seriously, they are great rears and usually have the benefit of having gears like 3.89 or 4.11 in them. They are getting hard to come by and I would expect to pay at least $150 and maybe as much as $300 for a rebuilable one.

$150 is the least I'd take for a bare housing.

I bought my 59 ford housing fo rmy 65 for $150 (with the axles). Then put new bearings on the axles, new seals in the housing, dropped in a 3rd member and bolted it in.

Recently paid $300 for a '59 rear - complete non-limited slip in rebuildable shape. Think that's something like the going rate...

I'd say $200-$300 for any 9-inch rear end. I got one from a 68 Cougar with open 2.75 and complete drums for $220 last year. I bought a large bearing housing (nothing but housing) for $85 at the time. I wanted to be able to do large bearings for brake options but never did anything to it.

I've got a good Versailles 9" listed in the classifieds. Check it out.

I thought the versailles rear is 1" too wide for a 66 and is sed to sawp into a 67.
