And the idea that the mods I have would decrease the cars value is just sorta kinda not correct, hell taking the KBB value and just adding a few grand (say 3 for everything) if I could take off the blower kit would gimme 20,000...and that's not to mention the rest of the junk!DaNd4Speed said:Quite the shame actually to see some extensively modded cars with such low mileage....only to be sold off cheap. Cars are never an investment. If you've sunk that much into it already, might as well keep it for the long haul and enjoy it. My .02
Not to mention the ****ty gas mileage I get with the big ol' V8 (200 a tank max, 100 if I go to the strip) NOT TO FORGET that these cars are pigs (I mean c'mon, 3300lb 2dr coupe??). Don't get me wrong, I love my car - and obviously know a thing or two about it (see mods list, and that all the work was done by me lol).BennyBlown2v said:Like i said, none of those cars are 04's. I'm not expecting to get full value out of my car - all i'm saying is it is certainly worth atleast $20,000. Hell, stock Mach 1's with as many miles as my car are selling for 25k around here. For some reason the market is really rich around here... I dunno why.
BennyBlown2v said:That was the original plan, but I just found out insurance for this car is $500 more per term than a 966ttNot to mention the ****ty gas mileage I get with the big ol' V8 (200 a tank max, 100 if I go to the strip) NOT TO FORGET that these cars are pigs (I mean c'mon, 3300lb 2dr coupe??). DaNd4Speed said:That's funny, cause my Mustang is cheaper to insure than my 05 Nissan Murano I just picked up. What year 966tt? What type of coverage? I guess it has to do with the fact that the Mustang is 6 years old, but I still have full coverage on it.
Crappy gas mileage is just part of the game with these cars. 3200-3300lbs for this type of car isn't all too bad...start looking at the 03 Cobra, or even an 05 GT and you'll start to think your GT isn't so heavy after all. Plus you're blown (like myself..who also does his own work) so it's not like a SC GT is a slouch.
I guess I'm glad I ended up keeping my car this long. I've come very close to selling it myself, even before I installed the Vortech. If I sold my car and bought a Terminator, I wouldn't have been in the financial situation I am now to buy a nice DD.
DocG2828 said:First....how the heck did you get that car for $18k with 4k miles when the care wasn't even a year old? now that was a good deal. In this area Mustangs go for a lot too it seems. Most 04's I see with similar mileage are selling from 19-21k. Now I understand the mods may lower the value, but I don't think that means you should lower your selling price. It may take a bit longer because you've narrowed your market to someone who appreciates that sort of build-up. But I'd think you can get 20k for it. I really don't think you'd get any more for it than if it were stock though.

DocG2828 said:How'd you pull that off? Special deal or were they desparate to get rid of it? Seems like nowadays its hard enough finding a GT on the lot around here, let alone them doing anything special to get rid of one.
