I'm on a budget and furthering my stereo isn't a priority yet but I have some questions. I wanted more bass and I had time so I hooked up a spare computer sub in my backseat. Running it off an inverter and off the sub preamp. Its probably 6 inches or less but my stereo sounds much better with it. When you turn it up too much it sounds like crap of course but for moderate listening its not too bad, at least untill I get a real sub.

I hooked two of them up in my trunk one time. Identical subs. I was going to have a full car but still wanted some bass. With the engine off you could barely hear they were there. With the engine on they were nonexistant.

My question is does a larger sub make that much difference?

Also is this any good? http://www.cardomain.com/item/ABN2102002T

I would at least get a 8", that's about as small as it gets for a true low freq. sub.

there will be a big difference when you put in a real car audio sub -preferably in a sealed enclosure and point it to the back of your trunk. Trust me theres a world of difference between a real setup and a computer sub sitting in the trunk....

As far as audibahn ...some people love it some don't....i've always thought they were more show than performance...but people say good stuff about them. I like JL and kick subs personally...and amps--i don't really have a preference....

I'd also agree with VP and go with a 10". But the volume comes from a decent amp, not the sub.

the larger the sub, the deeper it sounds.
