I'm getting true duals with super 40 flowmast with 3in tips... then im getting a MAC CAI and then a chip specially programed for my car.... how much horsepower do you think ill get from each mod??? i have a 2000 V6 ... thank you very much you guys are very helpful.
 
Overall gain? Maybe 10-15, if you're lucky. Don't waste money on the chip. That won't do much for the minor amount of mods you're doing. My suggestions since you seem to be modding at the rate I'm doing (least expensive route ;)):

duals, CAI, tbody spacer, tbody

they will program a chip for your needs.

a chip can be very helpfull on a stock stang. 7-10 rwhp can be gained and also the top speed limiter raised,rev limiter raised, shift points firmed up for autos,tuning for 87or93 octane,spedo calibration and many more

e-mail justin at VMP he can set you up with the best chip

as for the other mods 10-15hp at best, which is pretty good
 
The exhaust and CAI are a good start. Make sure you have some place you trust do the exhaust. I've seen a lot of real ****ty jobs out there.

Then chip is probably not the best investment at this point in time. If you have a 99+, a throttle body would be a total waste of money. On a 94-98, it won't help a ton either.

I'd recommend you grab an underdrive pulley. Easily the best bang for the buck in terms of more power. On either a 94-98 or 99+, it'll net you a solid 7-8lbft and 6-7hp.

Another good quick little mod is an intake spacer. Good for a few lbft, and only 70 bucks or less.

The chip, if tuned properly by an SCT guy like Justin, CAN get you a bit more power, but you're looking at $350 for a few more horses...IMO that's not really good price/performance ratio. Wait till you have more mods to buy a chip. Do the pulley/spacer first.

Well most people spend that much on dual exhaust and get little to no horsepower. For a guy looking for a car with a few boltons and never do much more, a chip can be gotten early- even more so if you have an auto. Most other boltons are not really an issue for a chip. It is when you start changine injector sizes, heads, cam, etc that your "typical" chip will need reburned anyway.

Yes but you generally buy an exhaust for more than performance. For most people, it's more about look and sound than performance. A chip isn't.

And I realize boltons won't really affect the chip. My point was just that $350 for a few horsepower isn't the most effective way to go. For less than that you can get an intake spacer and UD pulley, and I guarantee you'll get more from those. You're right on the auto, though. I can see a chip that firms things up a bit as being a better investment on an auto.
 
btw, anywhere i look i can find under drive pulleys for a v6. let alone my 95' (i assume it would be differant than the 96-98) anyone want to share where they got theres? would you recomend replacing the belts, or would i be required too?

You do have to replace the belt. With the smaller pulley(s), the stock belt is too long.
