how big of a shot can i put through my 79 351w, on a weekend race basis.. i dont wanna blow her up. its a .030 bore with stock oversized pistons(.030) offenhauser 360 intake, crane fireball 2 cam, heavy ported d00e heads, t-5, king cobra clutch, 3.45's coming off posi. brandy new stock bottom end..
theres alot of guys talkin crap at the track i need a little edge...
thanks guys

i read that the wet kit is better for your motor than the dry kit... and what is the big difference between the carb plates.. some have the bar through the middle adn some spray out of the sides.? whats the best ... as well as how much shot can i put through on a consistant basis without hurting my motor

bars, or permimiter spray dont have too much differences, the bars through the middle have been around the longest. On a stock style piston, anything over 200 is prob gonna be living on borrowed time

I was wondering the same thing for my motor... I have a 408w with 4340 forge internals and forge probe pistons. I guess from what yall are saying i should be able to spray a easy 200 wet shot onto my setup? But will the block hold up? Thanks for the info...

on my forged 351 i plan on shooting over 200 75 off the line and 175 shortly after that.

Id spray the 200 and not look back, make sure the air/fuel is good, forged doesnt mean it wont break, just means it will take a more mistakes
