Depends on the combo, but standard is generally 10 HP per PSI.

It really depends on your combo. I picked up 13rwhp per 1 psi on mine.

Seems like it would be smaller on a stock combo
as opposed to
A more efficient h/c/i combo

Good point Grady. I went out and drove my car today and it just feels slow to me. SO I have decided I am going to step it up.

For me, I want more low end so that's a KB. Unfortunately the KB got no intercooler and everybody says I need an intercooler with that compression. . So after doing several calcs I am swinging back to a 408. Not trying to p.o. anyone with several threads, just trying to figure out what to do. Thanks for all yer help guys!

im in agreement. the increase in hp will coincide directly with the increase in airflow. a stock car wont have the same increase per pound of boost as a car with a free flowing top end combo. it also depends on the cfm of the blower or turbo.

dude! you sound like me!

you could probably get away with a meth kit and low boost. but then you'll get hungry for more power and your options will be limited. with a 408, you can really up the ante

just keep in mind that that route ends up costing more because of the stuff you can't use anymore, like headers, lower intake, fuel rails, and oil pan just to name a few.

then there are the decisions you have to make, like do you keep the 94/95 accessories or go to fox stuff? you have more options with fox stuff and you can get march brackets for it then.

then there are the unexpected issues that crop up, like if you get a new k-member to make space for long tubes and also drop the motor to get it under the hood, then the steering shaft isn't long enough so you need a new one of those, ...

fwiw, you might wait until mine is done, because after i get my 302 block out, i'll be building a killer 331 (probably with afr 185s and a comp xe274 cam) and dynoing it for the learning experience. and if i still have the kb, i'll bolt that on too. if i really love the 331, i might yank the 410 out and put in the 331 (extremely unlikely), but i'll probably sell the 331 at cost.

Lol. I know, we are kind of in the same boat. How about the KB. Did you get it fixed? The small crack?

If I did go KB, I am figuring 8RWHP per PSI because of my compression and having to lower the timing. Am I being realistic guys? Also, I am pretty sure my Trick Flow heads are 170cc - just fyi.
