i got my seats for a steal because they were out of a wreck and the headrests were scuffed up, they cleaned up to like new with some leather conditioner and a suede brush though... there are deals out there if you're patient enough to wait for them to pop up
i'll admit $1k is steep for a set of seats (mine were $450 plus the $200 for new headrests on ebay), but they're the best OEM ford seats you can get, they're just plain awesome, high hip bolsters, stiff enough to hold you in place but still comfortable, worth every penny...
maybe keep your eye out for some bullitt seats though too, they're less desirable to most but just as amazing
