How much to ship a car cross-country?

A guy is selling a wrecked 94 cobra, but he is in California. My dad wants to buy the car to build a Shelby Cobra Kit car with (using the running gear, enigne, trans, etc...). What do you guys think a ballpark figure would be to have the car shipped from CA to West Virginia?

Thanks guys. :SNSign:

they quoted me about 1200 bucks (Canadian) to get my vehicle shipped from Vancouver Island to Kingston, Ontario a few years ago, just under 3000 miles....I decided to just fly to BC, take it out of storage, then drive it down...more for the fun factor, because I missed the car so much...

but anyway, yeah, for just under 3000 miles, (you're under 2500) it should cost you under a thousand bucks

Well one company, Direct Express Auto Transport has quoted me $1,350 so far. Haven't heard back from any of the other companies yet.

So if it is a running car, it is cheaper? The above quote was for a non-running car. The thing is, the car is running, it just cant be driven down a road. It was involved in a front end collision and bent the frame. The car still runs perfect. I wonder what they need for it to qualify as "running?"

my frame was bent after my accident and my dad drove it down the street, and up my driveway...is this car able to be driven a few 100 feet?

Not sure yet. The guy is supposed to send pics before we commit to anything. he said his insurance company has the car right now and he's gonna get pics asap.

Since it is is not running, there will be additional fees. I have shipped my Cobra from North Carolina to San Diego, and from San Diego to Washington. Both time I used an enclosed truck, it was about $1300. Open should be about $1000+.

I am willing to bet this is the Rio Red Cobra that was recently recked. I think this car was owned be an emplyee of Maximum Motorsports. Not sure. It was for sale at one point.

Good luck...............

Yes it is that car...only 40,000 miles on it. Sounds like a nice car.

It is. I almost bought it when I was down in San Diego for a daily car. Then I found out I was coming to Washington. Not so practical up here. I am lucky to get mine out once a month.

That car was in great shape last August. Sad to hear it got wrecked.

I think you'll be happy with it though as a project car.

Or even to steel parts off of..............
