I was thinking bout installing 3.73's and tloc sometime this month and how ok it would be if my i drove around for a month or so with my speedometer off, if i could do that any real risks besides a off speedo, cant afford the xcal and speedcalibrator. i know there different and u only need one, but i just got enough cash for install and parts. SO would this be ok for a month or a couple of weeks

Not exactly advice to live by....

Stangage - take the current gear size and divide by new gear size and that will give you your % difference between what the speedo says and what you are actually going.

That would make it approx. 13.4%, since all 99+ V6's come with a 3.27.

stangage,

Your speedometer (and odometer) will read higher than what you are actually going by the percentage posted by JSA96. At least you won't have to be concerned with speeding tickets.

I just made the same change. I just taped a piece of paper to my airbag with a scale of RPM/MPH. I only have to do that for a week until I get my speedo calibrated (tomorrow).
