How much would this hurt performance?

Ok, so when we put the motor in the car, my dumbass thought that Fel-Pro 1250 intake gaskets were readily available. Boy was I wrong.

With that said, both the lower intake and heads are ported to that gasket. We had no choice but to use stock-sized gaskets to get the motor done. Also, the parts store didn't carry TB gaskets for '93 Cobras (65mm), so I got stuck getting a regular 60mm gasket.

Any ideas how much that's affecting things?

(if you haven't guessed, I'm trying to figure out why this car is still so friggin' slow lol like as slow as the old motor and time in my sig)

P.S. - Apparently the Mr. Gasket 5833-5834 gasket is the same size as the Fel-Pro 1250, and easier to come by. The one parts place by me can get the Fel-Pro, but they need a deposit and won't have it until tomorrow when it'll be too late. I called up the Auto Zone near me, and they have the Mr. Gasket one in stock. Hopefully it's still there by the time I get outta work.

get the mr gasket one. call up autozone and have them hold the thing wtih your name on it. sometimes, parts store people are lazy (not me, but my co-workers at times) and just dont wanna look up that gasket for the 65mm tbody.

Why do you have to have the motor done so quickly?

Get your gasket from Summit or Jegs (1250)...I ordered a Fel Pro exhaust gasket on a Tuesday afternoon and got it Thursday morning...

Their is no sure number on how much horsepower or torque your losing but it obviously the motor is not running like it should...

Its not doing you any good. Those gaskets are a ristriction on your newly port work. I would suggest upgrading them to the right ones, why port then?

5spd - The motor's already done. I'm helping a friend swap a new motor into his LSC tomorrow morning and it'll be at a shop. I don't usually have much time, and tomorrow's my best bet. Besides, it isn't any fun doing this stuff in front of my apartment, in the street. lol

stang - looks like that's what I'm gonna have to do now. Of course Auto Zone didn't have the gasket I was looking for when I got there (shocker!). So, I picked up another set of stock gaskets and I'll try enlarging the holes some.

I'm really curious how much of a difference this is gonna make. I hope it's a signifigant one, because then I'm stumped.

I don't see a power adder in your setup so you'll be fine so long as you don't mame, mangle, or disfigure the gasket. Take your time when you're cutting it and draw it out first if you can.

Edit: you could always place them down and set the opening in the gasket by cutting to the port walls with an exacto knife then drawing out the circle along your depth cuts.
