Im wondering how often people wash their classic mustangs?
am i doing myself a disservice by washing it frequently?

when i got the car i was washing it fairly frequently. now not so much. basically before a cruise in or a show Ill wash it and spend a lot of time detailing.
my question is can you cause the car to rust prematurely by washing it a lot?

NEVER. It would only cause it to rust more.

Although mine's only been done a couple months, I treat it just like I did my previous streetbikes. That is, I clean any minor debris (cow turds, mud, etc) with a damp cloth and bugs, dust and such with Meguiars spray detailer. As long as the paint has good Carnauba wax on it, nothing sticks and as long as you jump on it soon, it'll always stay clean.
