How old were you when you got your first stang?

Saved up my money untill i was 14 to buy an 85 grand national. Turned 16 and sold it for $5000. Took that money and bought my 89 lx that i currently have. I buy all parts myself and do the work too.

got my mustang when i was 18, senior in high school. Had a few issues, but full exhaust and tune-up later, it rips! Now its my dd beater, since it has a motor (cougar doesnt right now) and gets good gas mileage (20ish vs 14 on the truck).

got my truck when i was almost 20. $300, then $700 to get it to pass inspection. ouch! its reliable now though. let it sit for 3 weeks and it started on the first crank.

got my cougar just this year (im almost 21). its gonna be fun and expensive...

I was 17, I traded in my 70 Chevelle for an '83 GT. I made my chevelle an SS clone. The dealer thought it was a real SS and gave me top dollar for my 307 powered Chevy. This was in 1988. So, I paid like 2500.00 for my GT after sticking it to the car salesman..Bout time I stick it to them....LOL

15. Parents bought me a really nice White LX. They got it on Thursday, the same day I left for a choir trip. I didn't even get to see it until I got back on Sunday morning @ 5:00 am. But I instanly fell in love. The car looked better when we got it then it does now.

Just got my first mustang this year right before i turned 18.. but before that i had been driving a mark vii since i got my permit at 16, and i've been driving my dads big block for the same amount of time. :)

I bought the 94 in the fall, a month after my 17th birthday. Before the stang I was driving an old 1986 hyundai, I sold it for $1000, I added my $4000 Id saved up, and my parents generously contributed $3000, $7900 later and I had a clean stang in the driveway :) Ill never sell it

17, summer before my senior year of high school. I remember the exhaust rusted through and I was so broke that I couldn't afford to replace it, so my dad replaced the mufflers with the quietest ones he could find. I'm 23 now and getting ready to graduate from Purdue, and its still the love of my life.

It's just a little bit louder now :nice:

I bought my 1988 5.0 LX on March 18, 1988 when I was 18 years old.

Prior to the Mustang I was driving a 2.8 v6 1995 Olds Cutlass Supreme that I crashed and rolled the insurance money into TJX stock that grew enough so I only had a $3K loan. The car was ordered from the factory and I waited about 6 months for it to be built. I bought it for $10,700

It was the beginning of the muscle car era and there were NO parts for Mustangs. I bought mine stripped except for rear defrost, tint windows, 3.08s, and the 5.0, no power or A/C, hatch for the extra 45 lbs over the back wheels (the mags at the time said this was better for the strip). Once I got the car I couldn't bring myself to beat it, but that didn't stop me from tweaking it and the car did a lot of sitting and soon became a fair weather driver and to this date has never seen a winter. I put it away just after I got out of college in 1992 and didn't take it out of storage until March 2007. Today it has just over 17,000 original miles.
After a serious ass whipping at the hands of a not-even-got-plates-yet 87 GT, I sold my 80 Z-28 to my brother, and ordered the car you see in my avatar on October 31, 1987, an 88 LX hatch(you need the weight on the street), paid $11,080, it arrived on December 23 of that year. My best Christmas. To this day. I still love driving it, and tweaking. On its 21st b-day, I had a Shiner(real beer) with it, since it was legal. Suzy thought I needed therapy, but I've had it longer than I've had her. I was 20 when I bought it, 21 when it arrived.
