Same here. Got mine when i was 16 and still have it. I'm 26 now
I was 17, I traded in my 70 Chevelle for an '83 GT. I made my chevelle an SS clone. The dealer thought it was a real SS and gave me top dollar for my 307 powered Chevy. This was in 1988. So, I paid like 2500.00 for my GT after sticking it to the car salesman..Bout time I stick it to them....LOL

now you know the rules...you gotta post pics with a decription like that...btw what did an 5.0 88 LX cost new?
After a serious ass whipping at the hands of a not-even-got-plates-yet 87 GT, I sold my 80 Z-28 to my brother, and ordered the car you see in my avatar on October 31, 1987, an 88 LX hatch(you need the weight on the street), paid $11,080, it arrived on December 23 of that year. My best Christmas. To this day. I still love driving it, and tweaking. On its 21st b-day, I had a Shiner(real beer) with it, since it was legal. Suzy thought I needed therapy, but I've had it longer than I've had her. I was 20 when I bought it, 21 when it arrived.I bought my 1988 5.0 LX on March 18, 1988 when I was 18 years old.
Prior to the Mustang I was driving a 2.8 v6 1995 Olds Cutlass Supreme that I crashed and rolled the insurance money into TJX stock that grew enough so I only had a $3K loan. The car was ordered from the factory and I waited about 6 months for it to be built. I bought it for $10,700
It was the beginning of the muscle car era and there were NO parts for Mustangs. I bought mine stripped except for rear defrost, tint windows, 3.08s, and the 5.0, no power or A/C, hatch for the extra 45 lbs over the back wheels (the mags at the time said this was better for the strip). Once I got the car I couldn't bring myself to beat it, but that didn't stop me from tweaking it and the car did a lot of sitting and soon became a fair weather driver and to this date has never seen a winter. I put it away just after I got out of college in 1992 and didn't take it out of storage until March 2007. Today it has just over 17,000 original miles.
