I just got done installing my hooker comps ceramic coated on my 69 mach1 with 351w. Fit is pretty good but the collectors need to be lowered about 3/4" and widened 1/2" on each side. How should I go about doin this with ruining them?

well unless you have custom suspension or other things that are in the way i would of returned those headers. Those are not cheap and i would expect them to fit perfect. Your not going to bend those properly without damaging the coating. Maybe heating them but i doubt it.

I have super comps on my 65 falcon. I had to raise and seperate my flanges. So I used a jack to lift it using the weight of the car as the reactive load. To spread them i just made a jacking bolt in between them and pushed it apart. It worked good enough and no issues with the coating.

Well I had to take it to a shop. The guy has the most amazing classic cars including 5 mustang faskbacks, one 67 with a 540ci with dual quads thats a site to see and hear with complete coilovers! They had to heat them up and bend them and it only made 1 small spot on each header that ill need to touch up. They also had to modify my new exhaust. Well they put it all on inlcluding tips, and welded most of it and charged $275. Not too bad for all the work and a nice outcome.
