I just installed the Pro. Products 70mm TB and i've heard that I need to set the TPS to .98. After looking at website it said to use the green wire, couldnt find the green wire so I got back on stangnet and reasearched a bit. I came across a thread that said the TPS is not adjustable and trying to change it will only be re-set by the EEc. What is a man to do?

Do you have an A9L computer? If not, then you do not need to adjust the TPS at all.

Kevin

When you see things that have to do with the pcm or the sensors that feed it, like the instructions sent with your tb, unless there is specific mention of a year model, you can just about bet that they are talking about a fox body pcm.

The pcm's in the fox cars were made for so long and our pcm's were around just for two years.

Our pcm's have quite a few different things that just don't work the same way.

It is very easy to get side tracked when trying to learn about our pcm due to the fact that most of the info out there is for the fox.

Thanks for the help, I did what you all said and started it up and it sounded like I had a cam, vroom vroom vroom vroom vroom. Took it for a spin and I could smell gas but it did seem like it was idleing like it was before the new TB. Thanks for the help.

OH AND BTW, My pro products TB does NOT stick and except for the wrong gasket and I had to drill out the holes for it to fit my manifold it works good.

I had to drill out the hole to make my Proffesional Products throttle body to fit as well.

So the million dollar question is...Why did Professional products make an adjustable TPS? Thats just extra money they have to spend if its not necessary.

I set mine last night put two paper clip pieces in the top wire on the back side and the middle wire and set it to .928 its in the midlle of the range they call for. I have yet to run the car since I snapped the end of the throttle cable off lokking for a way to take some of the slack out.
