How To - Bullitt steering wheel

I have a leather Bullitt style steering wheel from the FRPP catalog that I want to install in my '09. I'm fairly confident I can figure it out, I've swapped steering wheels on older cars before (pre-air bag cars) but if anyone has done this or knows where I can find a step-by-step instruction page that will help me get it done a little quicker please let me know.

I already know I have to disable the air bag 1st, I'm told there is a fuse that can be pulled to do that, if I can't find that I can always just unhook the battery. Beyond that however, anything that will guide me through the steps to removing the air bag, best order to unhook the wiring, etc, would be appreciated. TIA

Its real ez rick
I installed one a few months ago & wasnt to sure bout the airbag thing
just disconnect battery & leave it for a lil bit 30min is what I did
there are 2 plugs behind each spoke on steeing wheel that hide the bolts for the air bag .
remove them & the airbag /horn assembly comes right off.unplug connectors.
then simply unbolt the steering wheel . No puller required..
Peace of cake ....

It is an easy swap. Do yourself a favor, go to the dealer and get a new bolt that holds the wheel on. These bolts are designed to be used only ONCE. Torque the bolt to spec. The bolt is only a couple of dollars and the peace of mind is well worth it. I put the same wheel on my '06 GT 'vert and I love it.

Thanks for the tip Goldenpony. I hadn't thought of the retaining bolt being a 1 time use piece of hardware, but I can't say I'm surprised given Ford's increasing use of that kind of fastener in recent years.

You're welcome. Just be sure to pull the battery cable & fuse and let it sit 15 or 20 minutes to make sure the power to the the airbag is DEAD. Also, keep the bag pointed away from your face when handling it.

I thought the '11 cars had more and different buttons on the wheel.

only premium models. i did some research and i think it swaps right over. the bullitt wheel is the same as the base model (injection molded rubber) but it has molded in thumrests and leather wrapping.
