I was wondering how to calculate tire size. I was thinking of picking up 17x9 or 18x9 steeda ultralite satins. What tire size would be best for either combination.

What do you think would be the pros or cons of either wheel size? Apparently, the weight difference is only .5 lbs. for each rim.

If you like the same size all the way around on the 17x9's
go with 255/45's or if you want the bigger on back look put 275/35' on back.

Since I do lots of highway driving I have the 255/45's at all 4 corners.
plus then you can rotate front to back. But I will admit fatter tires do
look better on the back, its just a trade off .... looks/better handeling, milage.

255x35 is the tire size I use on 18x9
Any tire store website will give you recommended tire sizes based on wheel size.
1/2lb difference is pretty slight, there is still the issue of rotational mass, but I don't think its major for your weight difference. 18's are going to fill out a little better, and if you aren't getting a big weight penalty...go for it
