I feel like an idiot asking this because it SHOULD be simple and straight-forward, but it doesn't seem to be that way. How do you get the pintle cap off of the end of the fuel injector? I'm replacing the o-rings and caps on my injectors before I reinstall them and the top ring comes off easily, but I can't get the pintle cap off and I don't feel like buying new injectors after I break one. I've pulled and tried to pry it off, but no luck

Also, I did search and couldn't find how to get the cap off, but I did read you should use vaseline or something of that type to "lube" the injector and NOT use oil. Is that true?

try to put the injector in a vice grip, and use a flat head screw driver to pry the old cap off. thats what ended up doing. there should be no reason to replace all the caps unless they are brocken or cracked.

yeah i just went to autozone, so i took an injector w/ me an asked them, they used a screwdriver and got it off. I'm replacing the caps because they come w/ the repair kit and you have to take the cap off anyway to get the bottom o-ring off...

uhmm, I got all the orings off with an oring pick. you don't have to change all of the pintles unless they are junk. that's alot of work
