Keep in mind that I didn't start modding my car until the last year, so I never really dogged it. If you dog it then changing it is more important, but you are fine at 50k. Go ahead and change it, though.

That being said (to save you the whole 5 seconds of confusion) I changed mine recently and all I used was a small clear (Get clear... a lot easier ) tube I bought from Lowes for about 2 bucks and a funnel around the house that fit it snugly (no leakage ) Make sure the tube is flexible as it has to bend without crimping in a relatively small space, and all I did was take off the shifter, plug the other end of the tube into the fill hole, and then filled her up while sitting in my passenger seat until I heard dripping. It's pretty dern easy
