How to change pilot bearing?

I finally got this thing out on one of my "ok ok this is the last @#$@$# try."
I ended up using the tool I linked from harbor freight. I didn't even realize the whole thing had come out because the entire floor, other tools, parts of the engine are a complete mess with this grease.

On my next day off I have to play clean up but finally feel good that I can start to actually put things on as opposed to get them off.

Anyone have a special way of getting all this crap off my tools and floor now? LOL
Try brake clean to clean the tools.
I tried the slide hammer/ puller first for an hour, then I did the grease and it popped right out. I guess its a 50/50 shot.

I just finished putting in the replacement pilot bearing and just about shat a brick when I noticed the inner ring went in a bit.

Here are a few snap shots of what im talking about.

With this in mind, did I drive the inner ring in too far?
Based on the pictures is the pilot bearing in far enough entirely?

Please say I don't have to pull this bitch out again. I will die!
