How to get a 69 pedal to work in 68 with EFI

So using the 69 pedal doesn't seem to make sense to me. The entire assembly is different. The shape, the length, mounting points on the firewall. Am I missing something? I took out my old pedal this afternoon and compared two and then tried to see how the 69 pedal would work and it didn't seem like it was going to be a good fit. Can someone explain or show pictures to me of how you set yours up?

well, I'm not sure of the differance between 65 and 68, but does the 68 use the cable throttle cable? I was told that the 69 and up used the cable so it would connect to the 5.0. I couldn't find a 69 so went ahead and bought a fox body peddle and made an adapter to work on the the 65. I think that will work best for you if the 68 doesn't use the cable linkage.

No, the 67-68s have a gas pedal mechanism similar to or the same(?) as a 65-66.

The fox EFI pedal really only works if you have a car without AC. I bought the windsor fox efi adapter, and no one told me this.

I took a 69 pedal and mounted it to clear the blower motor and you have to drill new holes to mount it. I just made sure it cleared everything. I ended up using the fox efi cable and had no problems.

I have that windsor fox adapter if anyone needs it.

Anyone have pictures of what they did, i am heading this direction with my '65 too.

I used a 69 pedal for my 68 EFI project but it isn't just a simple bolt-in and go. You have to find a good spot for it, drill mounting holes, drill a hole for the cable, and if you want weld up the old linkage hole like I did. I am working on smoothing my firewall now and will try and get pics when I get home.

I'm not sure if they are the same but I used a '70 pedal in my '68. I had to drill new mounting holes and bend the rod some to get the right pedal height but it works just fine...
