How to get alternator pulley off.....

I got half my intake manifold on, now im waiting on the upper/lower gasket. So I decided that im going to finally put that underdrive pulley on my alternator. I got an impact wrench and tried that but the thing just spun. So I took a wrench and tried and all i got was a che-che-che-che-che and nothing. How to I get it off?

Btw, manifold is going on perfect so far and looking good.

When i used the gun, i held the fan blades with a pair of vice grips and it zipped right off. BTW, i used an electric dewalt imapct

Put the belt back on. It won't spin now.

yeah i thought of that but then the gun wont fit in there. Should i try to spray something on it?

I just used an impact gun, set hella high, a 6 inch extension, and a U-Joint... took about 2minutes... that's all...

are they reverse threads?

The threads are standard ,just so you know.My nut was on to tight and I ended up using a pipe wrench on the outside edges of the pulley to hold the pully.I put a piece of wood under the handle and put it against the fender so as not to damge the car.Then I put my rachet on and pulled it off.In my case i had to use a breaker bar on the rachet to get it to come free.This pulley was o.e. and was on for 7 years.hope this helps

I couldn't even get it off w/ the breaker bar... I had to use my impact gun w/ it set of full power, and a 155psi air tank but I got it off finally... I also used some Vicegrips and a sock on the pulley to hold it still...
