I got the quadrant itself out, but the adjuster part I just can't seem to get out. There is a peice of metal attached to the firewall that blocks it. It's made of some hard plastic. Should I hit it up with an air chisel?

grab your tire iron out and pry it far enough to see the little spring. unclip the spring entirely. it is now free to come out. Believe it or not, that plate is not in the way. Using a combination of moving the clutch pedal to all different heights while prying with that tire iron will get it off.

some claim success at hack sawing off the little finger extension so it will twist around and pop off. Patience is your friend here.

i just did this the other day, what i did was push the clutch to the floor and took out the clutch cable, when u look through the hole through the engine bay u can c the clutch adjuster piece that ur talking about.....take a tire iron and stick it in there and pry it off.

oh yeah, i had the same problem last week. i thought i was gonna start smashing stuff with my tire iron. i finally got pissed i just wedged the tire iron on their and put all 200 pounds of me and all my strength and ripped that little bastard off. it felt great...i felt like i had one the olympics
