My heater doesn't blow very hot like it should be and takes a while to warm up...what can be done? How can I verify that my temp guage (cold to hot) goes all the way hot even it if it shows it does...how can I verify?

Is just the heater core the only option:(

Sorry but yeah, on the bright side with a new heater core my close friends car warms up quite nicely and in little time, even with the 180 stat he's running. Higher stat should allow you to heat up higher...maybe little faster to the higher temp too, that may assist in warming the interior faster.

The Thermostat controls how fast the heater produces warm air. Has it been a while since you replaced it?

You can always wire in a seperate heater near the steering column to keep your legs toasty, but that isn't the answer you are looking for.

I don't know if there is a way to test the actual function of the heater control.

No hot air - get an out of work politician to do the job. You'll have plenty of hot air then. Huummm – Arkansas – maybe Bill C is looking for a job… :D

I like Bill:nice: (besides the moral problem there). Hillary Clinton has held me in her arms (when I was "we little lad")...my only famous person encounter...lol.

So heater core is it eh?:(

Well I have a 180* degree t-stat and it runs good with it. I figure I'll go with a new heater core. Maybe I can install one while I have tmoss port my lower (a few downtime days)...it won't be fun but I'll have good heat I figure:shrug:
