How to improve handling significantly?

Hello all,

Tomorrow I will be making a decision about a '96 Cobra. It has the following handling modifications on it:

Steeda sport springs
Bilstein struts and shocks
Front strut bar
Subframe connectors with x-braces (not installed but included)

Once I weld the subframe connectors in, is there anything else I can do to make the car as flat as possible in the turns without heavily sacrificing more comfort?

Thanks.

MM Road and Track Package...Can you say 1.0G lateral force:D
My friend has this package on his Fox, it's the same thing on SN95. 750-850 front, 260-280 rear and only 1 inch drop which is great, no scrapping around. Crazy cornering.

If you really want to go crazy, there's always the Grip Package:eek:

Wow, how much is that package? I would like to keep my springs and shocks (Bilsteins are nice from what I understand) but if this isn't too bad then maybe I can sell my old parts to cut some of the costs.

EDIT: I just saw that the package is just about $2300 - far too much for me to spend on that, and it has Bilstein shocks already in there, as well as the subframe connectors, 4-point strut brace, and springs (not the exact ones, but still) that I have already. Looks like the major stuff tha I need is:

# MM Panhard Bar with Aluminum Rod
# MM Heavy-duty Rear Lower Control Arms

And bushings all around.

Why keep them when the package comes with Blilstein shocks and H&R Red Springs:nice:

As for price, 1996-97 Cobra HT RTB-5.1 $2,382.79. Yes, I know it's a bit $$$ but you will save by buying all in one shot.

Here's my friends Fox with the R&D package.

As you can see, very little or no body roll at all in this demonstration:p

There's a great thread that was on here a bit ago (would come up in the search) about how to make a Mustang handle like a Porsche. The author of that thread...pure genius.

Also of interest, how to make a mustang sound like a Ferrari, and handle like a Caddy. Great trilogy.

Just a question, why doesn't anyone ever mention griggs? Is it the price?
because not that many people have Griggs componets, most people say about them is "They're the best" but nothing else, they are a proven preformer but most of their stuff hasn't been tried by alot of people

If you call up MM they might be able to piece together the road&track box without the springs/shocks/struts..

as for the strut bar you have (stock guessing) they will tell you it's bolted together at the wrong location and you should upgrade to the MM one because it's held together at a pinchweld on the firewall

If you want it to go flat around a corner, get stiffer sway bars. It already has upgraded springs and shocks so that will help significantly.
it'll go flat around straight, adding too thick of a front bar will induce understeer, which the stock cobra is even enough already. upgrade the rear first unless you get a kit

Not true. Because you do not read about Griggs on this site, does not mean there are not a lot of people running the Griggs stuff. Go to Corner-Carvers.com and see how many people are running Griggs.

You can check out http://www.griggsracing.com/people.html to see what people say about their products.

I have never driven an full out MM car, but I have driven several with the Griggs GR40 setup and it was quite an experience.

Back to the original poster, you can do quite a bit, but it depends on your budget. You can always do a little at a time. No one system has to be installed in it's entirety at one time.

I belong (or frequient) to almost every suspension section forum on the web, when it comes down to it everyone hears steeda the most and there's always a comment, and steeda is more of a household name than MM, and MM is over Griggs, now this is all about people who own the products (not full kits) everytime I get into a discussion about companys people always ask 'what about griggs?' Now of course the racing network is alot different :nice:
