What the best way to install the ends on braided fuel line? Under or over the braid?

Over

OVER. It is the only way you can do it. Unless you are using fake braided lines.

Seriously, if you needed to ask this question, you should probably have someone else teach you, or have them do it for you...

if you have to cut the line tape up where you want and cut right above that so the metal braids don't go everywhere and make it a real pain sliding into the fitting.

I used a fine cutting bit from my dremel and it makes nice cuts. But for the love of got the ends dont fir over the braided part of the line. And they are a tight fit under the braided part. Now i'm lost.

Man. We must be at about the same point with our cars. I had the same problem and went to the local speed shop and asked the guru there. First off, it is supposed to be a tight fit, but you can use WD40 or some other type of lube to ease the hose over the end. Are you using hose, ends and fittings from the same manufacturer? I found out the hard way that some manuf. hoses differ from each other in terms of wall thickness. While the inside diameter is the same across manufacturing brands (-8AN, -6AN etc.) the thickness of the hose and braid itself may vary enough to give you all kinds of headaches when using fittings from another manufacturer.
