I have a 11:1 compression carbed 351 motor. I just blew a rear main seal. It has no pcv valve. Just a breather cap on each valve cover. Could the lack of a pcv valve have contributed to my blown rear main. I've decided to put in a pcv. What would be the easiest way to do it. There are no acc. on motor. No air, heat, power brakes. Could i put a pcv valve where one of breather caps are and just run a line to the back of carb. I would appreciate any simple and easy ideas. BTW the main busted after about 2000 miles. I am new to the carb stuff. i had a 302 efi before this.

Thanks

Use a set of valve covers for a 289. They bolt directly to 302/351 heads, have a driver side oil fill and passenger side PCV hole/grommet. Run a rubber hose from the PCV valve sticking out of the passenger side valve cover to the PCV provision on the carburetor. On Edelbrock carbs it's a tube in the front, on Holley's it's a tube sticking out of the passenger side at the top of the venturis.
