How to lower engine temp.

I replace the 190 degree thermo with a 180 degree Mr. Gasket performance copper brass thermo stat. And flushed cooling system. Autometer gauge still reading the same 210 degrees.(No More No Less) What should I do?

There is a mod you can do that makes the fan come on sooner and/or you can install a switch in the interior to manually control it.

The temp will always be 210 unless you have air moving through the radiator (i.e. traveling down the roadway and not stopping or having that radiator fan on).

DO use two separate switches for the low and high speed fan since low requires 12 volts and high takes ground.

And dont run both at once - it will fry the motor.

FIRST: Welcome to Stangnet!!!!

You didnt list your mods, but if you have a lot done, OR youre planning on it really soon, esp aluminum heads, I would suck it up and shell out the cash for a Fluidyne radiator. THere are some "fan-rigging" things you can do now, but in the long-run, the Fluidyne will help. You can always get a tuning device if you do more mods that will program the fan to come on earlier. Im not a fan of rigging electric stuff unless you KNOW what you are doing.

I agree no electrical hacking !! they do make fan kits though black magic, and spal, where you can set the temp within the fan realay control box so they come on at a temp that you set, or always can go with the switch in the car.

yeah it runs hot but its not hurting anything its how it came from the factory. I wouldnt go hacking into the fan wiring either, i was real close a few times, but i never did, and now im glad cause i have my tweecer and i can now adjust it to whatever i went instead of having to flip a switch.

i have a new radiator (OEM style), and now that cool weather is setting in, the gauge doesn't go above N.
