As a small project I was wondering how to make the cowl induction on my Kaenan hood functional. It is in a way functional by blowing out hot air but i was wondering if i could make something to bring in incoming air to the intake. My idea right now is to get a March Perf. ram air scoop and mount it right up to the induction scoop and get a tube from Home Depot or lowes that connects the scoop and puts it beside the air filter. Would this work or be efficient? Need some suggestions or ideas. Thanks.

It might work O-K to extract heat, but as an engine intake its probably not gonna do much. Personally I wouldn't waste the effort...plus holes in your hood at high speeds isn't fun LOL.... I feel nervous enough at 150mph when the stock hood starts to shake and lift. Pins would be a necessity IMO.

It already has a small slit at the rear of the hood below the hood maybe about 2 inches high, so I wouldn't be cutting anything, just using the air coming in.

If the slits are at the rear of the hood hardley any air will get there. Trust me the effort you would put into it would net you most likely 0hp and you might even loose some.

It is normal to want to do stuff like this, it is wrong to actually do so...

I'd stay away from doing this. Its not going to net you much horsepower, if at all. I think an alternative mod to spend your creativity on would be to do some custom brake duct cooling mods, (if you're that bored and creative) which I'd seen done here and there on mustangs. Making functional ram air isn't the best idea.

You already have a cowl hood that has heat extraction, leave it at that.

That opened your rear cowl for heat extraction. He already has that in his cowl hood i believe. He wants RAM AIR as well
