hey guys

95 5.0

trying to take off the passenger side cylinder head.
have to get the alternator bracket off first.
it looks like there is a bolt behind the tensioner that i need to get off but it appears i need to take the tensioner off to do it. does that make sense? (im not talking about the bolt on the right that is behind the tensioner wheel. looks like i can get that off with a wrench or by moving the tensioner wheel. it seems there is a bolt just to the left of the center of the tensioner.
another way to ask, is how many bolts hold the alternator bracket on? 2,3, more than 3? looks like 3

i have a haynes manual, it just says 'remove the alternator bracket'. gee, awesome.

now, below the alternator, theres some other thing attached to the bracket. smog pump? not sure what it is, but should i remove that first or just let it stay attached to the bracket?

thanks in advance for any help

3 bolts attach the bracket to the head.
First remove the15 mm tensioner pully bolt, then the tensioner itself T-50 bit.

You can leave the smog pump attached to the bracket, but make sure to disconnect the rubber hose at the rear of the pump, so you can pull the pump out with the bracket.
