How to remove rear speaker deck cover?

How do I remove the rear speaker deck cover without damaging it? I want to re-upholester it. Thanks

Remove the back seat, remove the third brake light, remove or atleast loosen the quarter panel plastics all the way around, then pull the shelf out.

Awesome, thats what i thought, it just seems alittle stuck. I'll have to give it more of a try after work.

They have two IIRC large plastic push pins that secure the shelf to the metal frame. They are located behind the very top of the seat back. Look for those if it has never been removed before.

Oh and even if you take the quarter panel plastics out completely you will probably have to bend the cardboard shelf in a bit to get it to come out. Mine was a pretty snug fit.
