How to remove the center console?

Can someone tell me how to remove the center console? Which screws,, and where are they located? The local car wash dropped a penny inside, infront of the shifter. Now it rattles around everytime I stop/accelerate. I must get it out of there.

Any help is appreciated!

Wow! That sucks! I would have the car wash company pay Ford to do it. Once you take a dash apart, it somehow finds a bunch of new "squeeks". Be VERY patient and careful putting it back together! Good Luck.

I really don't mind doing it myself. Infact I prefer to. I just want some guidance on how to do it properly.

If it is a manual tranny:

1. Remove shift boot, remember which side was the front, it does matter.

2. Lift cover for compartment. There are two screws to remove, not the hinge screws either.

3. Apply e-brake and gentle lift the back of the console and pull back. The rubber should slide over the e brake.

4 Reverse to install.

Thanks for the help ctfordguy and afixer. I only needed to lift the top half of the console. The penny had falled down the left side and was easily removed.
