how to take old window tint off?

Hey guys.. if you've seen my car you've probably noticed the old crappy window tint thats purple.. yes purple.. bobs window tint didnt do to well did it lol its peeling and crap so i need to know how to take it off so i can get my windows blacked out.. any ideas?

Walmart sells a product called "Tint Off" it works very well.

Get a straight razor blade and go at it, make sure your takeing the old adhessive off with the tint or it will take for ever.

I used Prep-Sol solvent from the body shop at my Fathers dealership. Worked well, but took a lot of rubbing to get the adhesive off.

I hate window tint!

The tint off is great you pull the film back, spray the entire window then lay peel the film back up, let it sit for a few minutes and you can scrap it right off with a razor blade.

alright that sounds liek the best bet.. my car while it was sitting for the first 3 years.. the guys bro decided to take it on a joy ride.. and road it hard and when he brought it back he didnt shut the door all the way so water got in a lil bit and then the sun came around and boiled the water basically.. so its all peeling from that.. kinda sucks

I usually use the "Tint Off" or windex with ammonia in it. The ammonia seems to help break down the adhesive in the tinting.

I have had success using liquid dish washing soap (Dawn). A bit messy but took the adhesive off. This method was recommended by a tinting shop. Good Luck.

right. that's actually my job. comercial/residential window tinting. just use a 6'' blade and water/dishwashing soap and call it good.

i took a tint strip off my windshield, its like 2 month old tint, i just got it started with a razor, then ripped the film off, then used a razor and steel wool for the glue

mines 8 years old.. lol and been through plenty of hot summers.. so i hope it will be as easy as yall say lol

The best and easiest stuff I have used so far.

Be sure to keep using "SHARP" razor blades as well.
