A monkey with a screwdriver could rebuild these things

We will see what this monkey here can do. I ordered the parts. 3rd gear, cluster gear, and the cluster gear bearings, $273 to my door.

2 cluster gear bearings

Kev, remember this when you go to install the countergear.

Press the bearing towards the front of the trans on first and then put the countergear inside the case. When it's in the case, then press the rear bearing on.

Some publications say to press both on first and then insert it in the case. This only works with certain gearsets. Not all will fit this way. To be safe, press the rear bearing in after you get the gear in place.

BTW, T-5 bearings are standard bearing sizes. You could go to a parts store and buy new ones if you have the numbers. I beleive the last one i built i used Federal Mogul bearings and have the numbers somewhere.

Just called Harlon and ordered the DVD. Funny, a lady answers and asks how she can help me. I told her I wanted to order the t5 rebuilt dvd. She laughs and says she literally just stood up to go to the post office. If I would have called 2 minutes later it wouldn't have gone out today.

Looks like the new total is up to 298. Not a bad price for a t5z.
