I added this one to my Bronco and it worked great. I'm thinking of adding on to the Mach 1 to.

I would recommend flushing the entire system with the t-stat out. Once you get clean liquid, put in the new t-stat and refill with 50/50 mix antifreeze and water.

As to which T-Stat to get

I couldn't get the link to work. My suggestion would be to go to a local Napa store and talk with them. I prefer a quality 180* thermostat, but it doesn't get near as cold where I live.

I also agree with Hurt, and when power flushing I like to bypass the heater core as well...just in case!

I really do suggest a good power flush done at a reputable shop. It is much more thorough then using chemicals at home.

If you can do that, and keep distilled water/antifreeze, changed at the recommended intervals, you shouldn't have to do it again untill it's time to pass it down to your son or daughter.
