Hi guys,

i just recieved my Pro Racer Package with the cut down/ data logging only version of the XCAL2. There are currently no instructions on how to use the product avaliable and I was hoping some one here might know what exactly i can do with it..

how cut down is this version ? can it still read error codes ?

how do i actually use the tool, i know it plugs in the obd2 socket but is that with key on/off, unit on...

i havent used one of these before and so dont know where to start, and i dont wanna just fiddle with it in case i screw something up real bad ??!?!?!?!

any help would be greatly appreciated,

thanks

You need to downlaod and install Live Link from SCT's website. SCT has cool video product demos that tell you how to use the software and use Live Update to get the newest firmware into the XCal2 - the video tutors are at: http://www.sctflash.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=14

You can use it to check error codes not, just plug it in and scroll through the menus. Key off at first and it'll tell you when to key-on.

If you don't have SCT's Pro Racer tuning manual, you should get it - it is over 100 pages of the best tuning info avaialble. You don't have to be a Pro Racer customer to buy it - it IS slanted towards SCT software, but most of it is general tuning info.

cheers for the info Don, I have bought the prp manual too yes, it is full of very good information. Im going to try the xcal2 out tonight, is it worth upgrading the firmware before i start ? i guess ill try it out and see what happens

there was a little bit of paper in with the scal2 saying that the manual was being prepared and would be shipped out asap.... shouldnt be too long...

cheers guys

Look at your version - plug it in and scroll down to that menu item. The latest firmware is 1.3 - you'll need live update to update it.
