I am running 265/35 - 18 on my '01 with no problems at all. I have Y2K Cobra R's and they are 9 1/2 wide.

I have seen many posts here running 275's on 17" rims.

Another nod for 265/35/18 on a 9" AFS '03 Cobra wheel.

I do know a couple guys running 275/35/18 with little or no trouble.

hey iceman, i too have a 99 cobra that is lowered 1 and a half inches with hypercoil springs, and even 255/40/17 will rub just barely when all the way turning. just to let you know, on the 99's the sway bar just barely misses the side wall of the tire when sharp turning. just remember its not the tire height that will most likely cause the problem, its the width. I tried 275/40/17 up front, and luved it, until you had to turn in a parking lot haha, good luck

Are the 96's any different than the 99's? I was gonna go for 275/40/17 out back and 255/40/17 out front, is this a problem?

I used to run 275-35-18 Nittos on my lowered '01 Cobra without any problems, Nittos run narrow. I have 265 BFG's on my '03 and they don't rub.

the 03/04 cobras seem to have more room up front for wider rubber. the thing to do is keep as close to stock width up front as you can. the potenzas so3 tires seem to be wider than normal even on a 255 width. bfg is the way to go if you can.

I run 275x35x18's up front on my '00 GT with no issues. Actually if I am on a slope and backing up slowly I can get them to rub very slightly.

No it won't. I know that in the rear the biggest we can fit is 315.
