Humming at 35mph and up (not rpm dependent)?

This morning while driving my 91 GT into work I started hearing a strange humming noise that would get more high pitched the faster I would get after 35mph. It was not RPM dependent and is not coming from the motor. I do have a jacked up speedometer (needle all over the place, ticking, etc.) but I don't think it was coming from there (I use an iphone for speedometer currently).

So my noob question for the day, does this sound like a front wheel bearing or something else? I drive ~30 miles to work and can avoid the freeway which I did this morning.

that would be my guess. I know when I had one go out in my saturn ( i know it's different) I could rock the wheel back and forth to get the sound to change.

Front wheel bearing is most logical.
It could also be brake related, driveshaft, or even bearings in the rear end.

It hums because it doesn't know the words.

A wheel bearing is the 1st thing I would check.
