Hurst Billet/Plus or Reg. Hurst Shifter?

+1 on the regular Hurst shifter. It performs flawlessly and looks like what Ford should have supplied as original equipment given the retro nature of the s197 design.Personal opinion, but I want my car to sound like a shotgun is cocking when I shift inside the car. I don't want any of this hush hush crap. I bought a Mustang to be loud and obnoxious, not to be comfortable in.

+1 on the regular Hurst. Have had it in my car for almost a year now. No problems what so ever. And it never hurts to look at that pretty white ball....lol....
Thanks for all your replies on this subject. I just received in today's e-mail that the Hurst Billet/Plus is not or will not be available at all becuse of the buyout of Hurst/Mr. Gasket by B&M. So, it looks like I will be joining you guys with the regular Hurst that you all rave about. I appreciate your input.
I'm ready to replace my factory shifter but need to know if anyone has installed a Billet/Plus Hurst. I've had a Billet Hurst on order for over 2 months now and can't seem to get one. Should I go for the regular Hurst replacement shifter or wait until the Billet shows up?
I had the same problem and could not get a regular Hurst so I opted for the Steeda Tri-Ax and it does a good job . Spring loaded shift so it is really hard to miss a shift

no. you can still get that shifter. that handle/ball option is still available. the one in question had a billet rail, instead of a round tubular rail.

Well, if that's the case, don't use any of the sound deadening material and dual dust boots that come with the MGW. If you really want your car to be like an animal it should shift right too. I'm telling you guys, the MGW shifter is a bad ass mother. George even has the shift rod/linkage mechanism isolated from the rest of the shifter meaning those parts can rotate with the twisting engine/transmission under power........result, no missed gears. I'll be posting a thread in a few weeks showing an honest comparison of the MGW to the Steeda/Pro50 design.
This is true. I've noticed that at WOT I've been "locked out" of 3rd gear at the track a few times. I don't know if it is worth an extra 200 or so dollars, but who knows. I'll be looking forward to your review :SNSign:
